Step 2:
Gently unwrap your bouquet. You can keep your wrappers as a mementos or for future use!
Step 3:
Re-cut stems of flowers by removing 2-3cm with a sharp knife or scissors. It will be best if you can cut the stems in a basin of water before placing the flowers in the vase you've prepared.
Step 4:
Remove leaves that falls below the waterline. Leaves in water will promote bacterial microbial growth that may limit water intake by the flowers.
Step 5:
Keep the vase filled (or floral foam soaked) with fresh hydrating solution. Flower food makes flowers last longer but it is important to follow the mixing directions on the flower food packet. Overfeeding can cause the flowers to suffocate.
Step 6:
Find a good spot at home or in your office. Somewhere where you can always see it! You know how therapeutic these blooms are!
*Remember to keep flowers in a cool spot away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, directly under ceiling fans, or on top of televisions or radiators. (Appliances give off heat, which causes flowers to dehydrate.)
Most flowers will last longer under cool conditions.
Repeat Step 1, and Step 3 to 6 again if the flower food solution in vase becomes cloudy.
Now it’s time to enjoy your fresh blooms and your week ahead!
